Ya gotta love craigslist!
I don't know the guys at East Coast Drums, but they seem like they have a legitimate and positive business that actually promotes drums and music for kids. We need people like this in the community. I'm sure these will get removed soon.... This has been going on for months. The guys at East Coast run ads constantly and apparently do very well and someone has a problem with that. What the heck is wrong with people?
Slander at the very least.

To be Clear, Dave is the guy that owns or runs East Coast. Obviously, he's not the person responsible for the slanderous ads.....Maybe his last name should be removed from this thread too. Just a thought.

Oh, I get it. These are deliberately referencing/impostering another Craigslist seller, and seem to be implying he's somehow monopolizing the listings? Seems a bit paranoid. I don't think there is any such "computer program".

I have a friend who has a guitar store and sells on CL. The haters are always flaggin his posts, inciting others to flag his posts, and putting up fake posts with his name or company name trying to make him look bad. CL is such an open and uncontrolled place that these "CL Police" can run amuk. I understand it takes 10 flags to have an item removed so someone with a lot of time and 10 email accounts can cripple a seller. Amazing...

Yeah, one of my students takes out ads, buys/sells and he's experienced the same exact situation. There is a guy in the area who also buys and sells, and he has sent my student hundreds of emails harassing him nonstop. The harasser made the mistake of sending a bunch of the emails with his real name visible on his email address before he started using different made up names. So we figured who the guy is. He sells a lot on Ebay. You can always tell its him by his writing style, no punctuation, all caps, etc... As I'm remembering this, judging by the writing style or lack of, I would bet anything its same guy who is harassing East Coast Drums.

There is something somewhat similar going on on Amazon.com. Some of the product reviews are very suspect, slanderous, and downright ridiculous. It appears that a competitor is dissing someone else's widgit to promote his own.
I recently saw this with DMX cables. A perfectly good distributor with reasonable prices got dissed by someone who said the seller packaged microphone cables and pawned them off as DMX cables. I didn't fall for it (there were many other reviews, all positive), and the cables, when arrived, were correct.

I saw those posts today too. I see no reason to flag his posts. It is probably just a jealous competitor.
I spoke with the owner once or twice quite a while ago. He answered the phone "Mr. Williams", which I thought was a little pretentious, but whatever. We couldn't agree on a price for something I was interested in and that was that.
I do know a couple of guys who have been to his place and even his house when he was selling out of there. The new place looks nice in the pictures. I hope he does well, as there just aren't enough real drum stores around. I wouldn't mind checking it out in person sometime.

Browsing the D.C. listings for a second, found this: "16X22 Bass Drum in Cracked White Ice Wrap" I love that! somebody call DW and tell 'em we found a cooler name for Marine Pearl.

Not even worth the $750, though. (for just a bass, hell no)

Anyone see this? I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat if I had a spare $1000. (though, I'd do an offer of $800 or so first to see if I can beat him down)

CL now has "by owner" and "by dealer" designations. You can choose one or the other or both depending on what you want to filter out.

You do know there is a section on the forum to post craigslist ads right?
Please, if there is anything left to discuss on this, lets stick to the OP topic. Thanks

It had to be the elusive 15" snare that enthralled him !!
